Ingredients
- 1 baguette, cut into 1/2 inch round slices
- 5 small yellow onions, or 2 large
- 1 tsp. thyme, dried
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- Sprig of chives or fresh herbs, to garnish
- Flaky salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 container Toby’s Plant Based Dip & Spread
Instructions
To begin preparing your caramelized onion crostini, gather all of the ingredients. Heat up the oven to 375 degrees F.
Slice up a baguette into 1/2 inch round slices and place each slice evenly spaced on a baking sheet in a single layer. Lightly drizzle over your slices of bread with 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. Bake them until they become lightly golden brown, around 8 to 10 minutes.
In the meantime, start caramelizing the onions. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the onions, dried thyme, and pepper. Stir the mixture and sauté until the onions have released their liquid and start to brown and caramelize, about 10 minutes.
To assemble, spread a serving of Toby’s Plant Based Dip & Spread on each piece of crostini.
Top with caramelized onion, fresh herbs or chives, and flaky salt. Enjoy your caramelized onion crostini!
