Ingredients
Dough
- 1 cup warm water, not boiling
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cups Flour
- 1 tbsp Coarse salt
Other Ingredients
- ½ cup Baking soda
- 9 cups Water
- Cooking spray
- Toby’s Honey Mustard Dressing & Dip
Instructions
Gather all ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine water, yeast, and sugar. Whisk and cover with a towel for 5 minutes until foamy. Add salt, butter, and 3 cups of flour. Mix with a rubber spatula for a few minutes until the dough pulls away from the bowl. Slowly add the remaining flour and mix until no longer sticky. Knead the dough for 2 minutes then cover with a towel and rest for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, add baking soda to a large pot with the 9 cups of water. Mix and set the burner to high, bringing to a boil. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Roll dough gently into strips and cut 1 inch pieces with a pizza cutter. Add bites 10 at a time to boiling water for 10 seconds and remove with a slotted spoon, then grease a glass cooking dish with cooking spray. Arrange bites evenly apart on the dish while still wet and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Plate and serve with a ramekin of Toby’s Honey Mustard Dressing & Dip. Enjoy your Homemade Pretzel Bites!
